This is the first novel I have read by this author, and let me tell you she did not disappoint. She brings the characters to life and makes them feel like old friends.
Hope Stockton is a single mom trying to overcome her mistakes and failures from the past. She needs to learn to accept forgiveness, but is allowing guilt to get the best of her. Hope feels unworthy of God’s love and because of that, she has put up walls and barriers around her heart and all aspects of her life. Then, she meets Pastor Josh Lewis, and he is struggling with his own issues in life. But, Hope soon realizes that God is the only one who can heal her heart. As the story progresses, both Hope and Pastor Josh turn to God for answers. Redemption, restoration and forgiveness happen and the walls and barriers come tumbling down.
This story is set just after the Vietnam War and the historical aspects of the story are spot on. As the author pulls you in to the story, you find yourself feeling for Hope and celebrate when she finally accepts God’s forgiveness.
I really like this author, I like the storylines she chooses to tell and I like her writing style especially her vivid descriptions of people and places. I will definitely read more books written by this author. Thank you Carol James for such a great story….well done and please keep them coming.

Set in small town Texas in the years during and following the Vietnam war, Seasons of Hope is a story of forgiveness and restoration.
