MY MOTHER’S PHOTOGRAPH

It’s been ten years since Sarah left her mother’s seaside cottage.  She is returning to Dovecote to fulfill her dad’s dying wish. She never expected to return to Dovecote and neither did the community she left behind all those years ago.

When Sarah is rummaging through the cottage, she discovers an envelope  filled with old photographs from World War II.  She must find the mystery behind the pictures.  Why were they hidden for so many years? Sarah asks her estranged husband to help her find the truth behind photos.  As they spend time together they begin to rekindle their relationship.  But are they willing to risk everything to find the truth behind the photo?

“My Mother’s Photograph” by Laura Sweeney is a story was completely not what I expected.  I was surprised by the storyline especially with the setting being during World War II.  I would have liked to have known a little more detailed description of the book.
