THE ISLAND OF SUMMER SUNSETS

MY THOUGHTS:

Janie is happy living her life at the same laid-back and slow pace of the island she lives on.  She seems a bit lost after the death of her husband, Daniel, wondering what could possibly be next for her.  What will she make of her life.  Living on the beautiful and picturesque Fripp Island, located on the Atlantic coast is exactly what she needs. Then, Janie meets Ryan Kennedy, a single father to his teenage daughter, Sibley.  They both move to Fripp Island for a fresh new start.   Janie becomes friends with Sibley and Sibley needs structure and reassurance in her life that everything is going to be ok.  Janie nor Ryan are looking for a relationship, but the more time they spend together the more they enjoy each other’s company.  They have great chemistry.  Soon a budding romance between Janie and Ryan begins to develop.

This wonderfully written story about second chances at love, and opening your heart to what the future holds is a rapid read.  The description of the sparkling waters that surround the island will have you daydreaming about relaxing on the beach.  I was immediately whisked away with this wonderful beach read.  I felt as if I could actually hear the seagulls and feel the breeze on my cheek.  Fripp Island is not only filled with beautiful summer sunsets but is a place of second chances, new beginnings and days filled with peace and tranquillity. This well written story has an amazing storyline.  I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

Thank you Susan Sands for such a wonderful story.  I enjoyed the escape to the beach.  I highly recommend this book.

Sail away with this heartwarming beach read about hope, family, and finding out who was meant for us. Among the dunes and salty spray, off the South Carolina coast, where the daily tide swells and the minnow counts are the only news in town, something big might just change Janie Brooks's life forever, for better or worse.

In the small southern village of Fripp, Janie's life is moving along at about the same slow pace as the island—exactly the way she wants it. After the death of Janie’s husband, unable to find her own way, she spends her days with the seagulls and swallow-tailed kites, in the serene bliss of the Atlantic coast.

Until newcomer
Ryan Kennedy
and his teenage daughter move into the rental down the street, shaking up Janie’s well-ordered, simple life. Ryan has enough to deal with, being a single dad. All he wants is to move into a brand-new house in this quaint community and start fresh. But, with Janie down the street, that might be easier said than done.

Will Janie and Ryan find their own version of paradise? Or will one get in the way of the other?
