CHRISTMAS AT THE SCOTTISH LODGE
Mairi, loved the time she spent in the Scottish Highlands as a child so she decided to visit her Aunt Effie’s lodge for Christmas. However, a snowstorm trapped her there. Initially, she was fine with the situation until she realized she was snowed in with her ex, Jed Murray.
Mairi and Jed had a lot of work to do to prepare the lodge for the Christmas arrivals. She focused on her tasks, but she couldn’t help but feel caught up in the moment with Jed. From baking Christmas cookies to hanging up the holly, she was enjoying the time with Jed. Despite her intentions to suppress her feelings, her heart had other plans.
“Christmas at the Scottish Lodge,” a delightful festive rom-com by Donna Ashcroft, is a joy to read. The banter between Mairi and Jed was so hilarious that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. I really enjoyed the characters and would have loved to have spent Christmas at the Lodge.
This story perfectly sets the stage for the Christmas season. The detailed descriptions of the Scottish Highlands and the magic of the season were truly captivating. The snowstorm outside was so vivid that it felt like a movie playing in my mind. I could almost feel the warmth from the crackling of the fireplace and see the twinkling lights. This would make an excellent Christmas movie. I loved every aspect of this story and highly recommend it.
